From 27.06.09 to 28.06.09 a big Team Tournament is conducted in Berlin.
The number of participants is limited to 150. Already 50 have signed in. Many top german players already booked in. I realy think this tournament could rock.
It is a team tournament with 3 players in one team (3 x 1500) . So think about it.
Start is Saturday 10.00, End Sunday 18.00.
Location somewhere in Tegel.
That means starting in SZ around 07.00 should be sufficient.
*****
Sleeping in Berlin, I think Hostels can be a good option to reduce sleeping fees.
See here the prices are quite ok:
www.berlin-hostel.de/berlin_hostels_preise.html
I will assisst in writing a reservation request, or even book for you once you are definitely coming. I asume 3 weeks prior the event should be sufficient, else there is still the fall back solution SZ.

Here are the Teams so far (I dont want Germans to be Teamleaders, but I will try to get some more German players to join the teams, if this is wished... that makes things more easy!):

Rules and Information for "Berlin Spaceballs 2":
Link: www.tabletopturniere.de/t3_tournament_rules.php?type=0&tid=3789
The tournament is a team-tournament.
Every team consists of 3 Players.
All Players must play with different Codex.
The FoC must be latest with the orga 2 weeks prior the tournament. I recommend to send the rooster in English(!) for the complete team to me ( hpwambos @ yahoo.de ) and once complete I will pass them to the orga.
The use of "special characters":
there MUST be one special character in one army of the team. Rules of special charakters in accordance with rulebook page 49.
The army roster with the special charakter must fulfill the requirement: 1 HQ, 0-1 ELITE, 0-1 FAST ATTACK, 0-1 HEAVY SUPPORT, 2-6 Troops.
The missions:
In general all missions are played with the three different deployments (Pitched Battle, Spearhead, Dawn of war). That means that the Team must consider in advance who of them will go for which deployment.
The way of conduct is as follows:
1. Two Teams will be paired.
2. Each Team defines secretly which of their players goes for which deployment.
3. Then the Team players are paired with the opposing Team player (who has the same deployment)
4. Then the 3 tables will be allocated to the different deployments.
5. The game can start.
The first pairing of teams will be conducted randomly. After the first Team-game the Swiss Pairing System will be used.
In total 5 missions will be played within the 2 tournament days.
Day 1:
Mission 1: Seize Ground, in accordance with the Rulebook and with 5 Mission objectives.
Mission 2: Capture and Control, in accordance with Rulebook
Mission 3: Annihilation, in accordance with Rulebook
Day 2
Mission 4: Control of Table quarters. Mission objectives are the 4 Table quarters. Only Troops can hold the quarter. Only Troops, Elites or Heavy Support can deny the quarter. one troop can only hold one quarter. If the troop choice is in several quarters at the end of the game then only the quarter where the most models are in are counted. In case of equality role at the end which quarter belongs to the troop choice. The one that holds most quarters is the winner.
Mission 5: Quantity over Quality. Each surviving Unit counts as one point. Broken units that are running away count as destroyed. Important: Units are generating the points, means that also the transport of a troop choice which is not destroyed will generate one point. Units that are not scoring units such as Nurgles are not generating a point.
In general:
If you annihilate your opponent then this games is a 20:0
If you score a tactical victory then it is 17:3
If you have a draw, then you callculate on victory points. If your victory points are 10% higher than your opponent then it is a 13:7.
If not it is a real draw 10:10.
Winner:
The winner is the team that has scored the most points.
